here's my 3 week old supermodel of a niece. one of my two most favorite newborn baby girls. the other one is 4 weeks old and is also a supermodel. i love my nieces and we are so lucky to have them in our family.

ashleigh loves cassie. here she is trying to give her kissses.

can't wait until we get our babylegs and hugalugs so we can do a fun photo shoot with all the girls!!! and can't wait to take more pictures of cassie, she's already changing and growing so much. little stinker thinks she can be wide awake all day long already (well a couple of hours to a newborn feels like all day)
thanks for all the fun photos!!!

MVD!

So if there is anyone out there with a liscense that's about to expire (in NM at least, i don't know about other states) Go take care of it right now...

So early last week of the week before i don't really remember anymore my sister and i thought we would be responsible and finally get our liscenses renewed (mine has been expired since november and hers since december) our excuses for not getting it done sooner...well christmas and have you ever taken kids to the stinking MVD? oh and kristine had just had a baby right after hers expired which i guess is a good excuse.

so i sent kristine in to check out the line and the wait i didn't feel like taking 4 kids out of the car and watch them run around and bug everyone and get in the way and do all the stuff kids do. so she went in pulled a number and waited and waited and oh...they called her number already!!! she went up to tell the ladies at the front what she needed, a new liscense. it should be easy right take a picture, sign your name print it off it's done...no?! i need a birthcertificate (something that proves date of birth), and SSC, and 2 forms of bills, bank statements, etc (that show proof of residence). ok sounds easy. it's ok you don't have to remember all that stuff they give you a paper that has everything that you can use written on it. neither of us could find our birthcertificate but i pointed out to my sister that the list that the people from the MVD gave us said that a marriage certificate could be used instead of a birth certificate. GREAT!! i have that!!!

so kristine took all her stuff to the MVD, i stayed home with the kids. well she wasn't there long before she came back mad and yelling. no they don't except a marraige liscense even though they say the do. i'll spare you all the conversation between my sister and the MVD lady. but my sister pointed out what their "list" said and the MVD lady said "we didn't issue that" HELLO you're the one who gave it to us!!!

so....we had to find or get birthcertificates. easy there's a place in town that will give them to you for $10.00 and a couple hours/a day. so my sister stopped by there to get one for herself. (this is the funny part) YOU HAVE TO HAVE A CURRENT LISCENSE TO GET A BIRTHCERTIFICATE!!!! so we couldn't even get our own BC. (well unless we wanted to mail in a form you fill out online along with a check then in like 10 days to 2 weeks they'd mail you one, funny you don't need a liscense to get one that way) anyways my dad (my parents all save us when we screw up) he went over and got both of our BC for us. we are so lucky to have patient parents even after we're supposed to be doing this life stuff all on our own becuase we're "grown ups"

anyways we finally got our BC and went over the MVD. Got 4 kids out of the car, pull our numbers. wait 10 minutes get called to the front (to check and make sure we have everything we need) and i get up there with my BC, SSC, and 2 bills. WAIT you DON"T accept credit card bills!!!! AHHHHH!!!! my sister says she's getting hers anyways 'cuz she has everything. well an hour later i tell her i'm taking the kids to the car to watch a movie there's only 6 number left before hers. so i take the kids to the car and another 40-50mintues later she has a new liscense!!!! 2 hours! rediculous.

i got up at 7:00am the next morning, got ready got there my 7:35am (they open at 8:00am) waited with the other 20+ people who wanted to get there early. i pull number 6 and 13 mintues later i walk out with a new liscense. finally. but i got a compliment i think...the lady taking my picture said i look like her sister who modeled for Avon in the 80s. i told mario, he laughed. he said she couldn't say her sister who was a model, or her sister who was a model for AVON, she had to throw in the 80s.

just so you know i got a haircut last week and have been complaining that it looks like a 80s rockstar. that makes the comment much more funny. well if you made it this far your reward is........well nothing. just the statisfaction of knowing you'll be smarter and go get your liscense before!!! (or less than a month after) it expires.

Thank you hunny!

i know you're all jealous!!! my brother-in-laws aunt does some amazing things with food. like crazy deliousness. dawn sanchez creations, check it out. so when my sister-in-law (who works with dawn) said she had something to drop off for the kids i got a little suspecious since she was just here on tuesday. but my husband was also calling me every hour to find out when i was going to be home. he always does something special on V-day. i love him, and he spoils me. but this one i'm wondering who it was more for me or him? but i love it the same!!!!

hey!!! this one has a bite taken out of it already. i want a new one!!!

happy valentine's day

Elijah had a valentine's party at school today. he was so excited, i don't even think he knew why he was excited. I guess a PARTY is always exciting whether or not you know what the party is for. But this is one of elijah's teachers. isn't she so much fun!!! we loooooooove his school and the teachers are totally awesome and love the kids. they're the best teachers in the world!!!

ashleigh thinks the school is her school too. she loves hanging out with big kids. she thinks she's 3 already.

my hubby just had something delicious delivered for me!! it looks super delicious. i'll take pictures and post later, you'll be so jealous after seeing all those treats.
Thank you dad!!! we love you. hopefully they'll be some goodies left for you when you get home!!

what do we do when elijah's at school?

take pictures of ashleigh of course!!! she's getting so big and doing things so fast. yesterday she climbed all the way to the top of the HUGE climbing thing at the zoo and came down the super long, super fast slide (elijah helped her a little, at least showed her where to go)

our snow...at least what was left by the time we got to it

ashleigh's first time touching or playing in snow. she thought it was quite interesting and kept trying to shake it off her hands. i'm just glad it's all gone and starting to warm up (even though there may be a storm coming through later this week). i'm so ready for spring and warmer weather. i don't fair well in the cold.

you like ashleigh's pretty pigtales (sp?) my sister made those clips for her before she was born i finally get to use them. we love them and ashleigh actually leaves them in her hair.
elijah showing me how to eat snow by shoving it in his face. he loves snow!!! i wish i would've taken him sleding or something this winter, but like i said i don't love the cold.

well i have more pictures to work on. i took some of my adorable niece today and snapped a couple of ashleigh, i'll try to post some in a couple of days. don't want everyone to be spoiled with two posts in one day!!! then you'd be expecting it all the time.

elijah conversation

so we were at my moms house last night and the kids (elijah and his cousin and ashleigh) were watching backyardigans. anyway, there's a part in the show where the characters were skating on the ice. elijah turns to me and says...
e - "mom are they iceskating?"
me - "yeah they're iceskating."
e -"no, they're iceskating"
me - (getting annoyed) "yeah! they're iceskating"
e - "NO! they're iceskating"
me - (trying to figure out what he wants me to say to that, wait i think i get it...) "Oh, are they YOUskating?"
e - "yeah! they're iceskating"

i guess he meant I-skating, not iceskating. when you say it, it does sound the same.
silly kid's been saying lots of funny things lately. mostly just copying everything i say, i feel like i have an echo. today he told me "are you kidding me?" coming from a 3 year old it's pretty funny. my favorites are "what you talking about mom?" and "Oh my Shrek!" the first thing he told me this morning was "i don't want a haircut" but then he tells me "mom, your hair is so long! we need to cut it." i don't know how to get that kid to let me cut his hair. he wouldn't even do it for hershy kisses! i'm about to give up, i don't want to fight anymore. any ideas?! it's getting pretty bad. well i need to go to bed so i can get up early and run. i've stuck to my running schedule for 2 weeks and i don't want to break it! i can't believe i've done it this long!

so goodnite!
