halloween party #1

my nephews had a halloween party at their house on saturday (i know i'm slow to getting to the photo's)
we took some fun pictures

had a parade around the neighborhood

elijah and ashleigh are wall-e and ever (their costumes still need a little work)

ate good food, played some fun games and got awesome prizes. it was fun






this saturday is an adult party for me and mario (yes we're dressing up) you'll have to wait and see pictures of that. i'm excited (mostly to go to a none kid party!)

GOAL!!!

we bought a little camcorder friday. time to show it off, ESPN highlight style. We had plenty of subjects to film, here is just a bit of elijah though. Sorry bout the small window, still learning all the quirks about video editing.

williams family pictures

at my parent's backyard!!! you wonder why we go down there every sunday (and other various times during the week) my kids (and everyone else) loves it down there!!!
thank you mom and dad for having such an awesome yard and letting us play there (and take pictures there too!!!)


oh and thank you williams family (aka my aunt, uncle and cousins). i'm so glad you called me to do your pictures, i think the timing was PERFECT!!!

afternoon at explora

if you saw my house right now you'd know i wasn't home all day (or i spent all my time on the computer) both are true! it's such a mess, cereal and shoes everywhere. and dinner half made in the kitchen.

have i mentioned before how much i love explora. we took amanda there today to take pictures. we had so much fun, even though the kids got all wet playing outside.







not only are my kids way cute, but i think they're pretty funny too. elijah is so silly lately! he had a lot of fun looking at himself in the mirror and making funny faces and dancing.

sunday.

we carved pumpkins at grandma pat's house. i know already right? we're a little excited for halloween around here.

how awesome are these pumpkin kit things?! they're like light brights. you hammer them in and then put a light in the pumpkin and they light up. there called fright lights at target. i'm so getting some for my kids!!!




and something my mother-in-law saw in a magazine. why cute!!! she also showed me some flowers in gourds. they were so pretty and fallish. i have my pumpkin flowers in front of my door right now!


such a fun weekend, sad that it's already monday! things to do this week...
actually run (i've been so lazy lately, but now that it's cooling off i don't have to run in the morning so i can sleep in and then run later in the afternoon)
i need to call my aunt to make a hair appointment
call the kids doctor to make checkups (and flu shots, yuck!)
and call other various people to confirm photo shoots and stuff. i hate talking on the phone!

ask me how i'm doing on my do to list (maybe that will keep me motivated to actually get them done!)

saturday.

we had a soccer game in the wind. and i think the wind brought the cold because it's chilly!!!

ashleigh had crazy hair, which was even more crazy in the wind.

elijah's back to normal in soccer. hopefully he'll get in a goal scoring mood again. back to normal means he's back to acting silly on the field (and acting!!! as in he pretends to be a slow robot or various other things. i just wonder why he can't be a fast goal scoring robot?!)

ashleigh had the best seat in the game.

and ALL kids enjoy snacks at halftime.

after the game we went to the chili cook off at church for a short while. came home worked on halloween costumes. then mario's mom took me shopping. it was so much fun (i got an awesome new sweat shirt which i love and never want to take off)
then mario and i went out bowling. i beat him!! the first time in 10 years. and he was trying!!!
then we had a banana split from the route 66 diner i wish i would've brought my camera. it was huge!!!

friday.

i had a good hair day (and still had black nails) i set the camera up on the tripod and let elijah have the remote and took pictures. i think i'll do this more often (if i keep having good hair days)

we're not morning people

as you can tell.

we went to the balloon fiesta last saturday. i have a hard time taking pictures of just the balloons. i get bored. i'm much more interested in what the people are doing around me.



i did take pictures of just balloons (i thought i'd make some prints and put them in a little book for elijah to take to school they just studied about hot air ballons), just i've seen so many posts of balloons lately. what's your favorite part about the balloon fiesta? i love that it's one of the only places you can go and stare at people. they're too busy looking up, or looking through a camera lens to even notice. mario and i decided it would be pretty funny to just go around jumping in front of people's cameras right as they're taking a picture. (and then give them a card with your email and ask them to email the picture to you). hahaha, are we the only ones who think that's funny?

why do i bother?

so i cleaned outside a little. and then the kids wanted to play outside (and make a mess) and ashleigh just wanted to play in the mud. i didn't want her to play in the mud because then i'd have to clean it up. so we fought. and we both cried. i gave up, came inside and she stayed outside and got her way. then she was happy, and i was happy because i stopeed getting mad.

i got to play on the computer and she got to get all dirty. so why did i fight her when i knew it was a losing battle? i should've grabbed my camera and enjoyed watching her try to pick the mud off her feet before she came inside because she knew she wasn't coming inside all dirty.

now she's sitting on the couch (no diaper or anything) and happy. all the frustration for no reason. and now i have no pictures either. so why did i even bother getting mad at a little mud?

elijah's soccer game

the first half was really bad, except for zidaya scoring a goal for the other team we really didn't get near a goal. it looked like elijah was going to have another year like last year (making silly faces, picking his nose, running circles around all the other players, just bad)






but then mario said something to elijah, and he took off and stole the ball from the other team and ran it all the way down for a goal. it was so exciting!!! then he turned around and did it again!!!

it made the whole season worth it and it was only the first game! elijah now has new soccer shoed that don't hurt his feet so hopefully he'll do even better.




after the game we went to the coolest ice cream shop and the kids played for hours. they had sooo many toys there. it was great to let them play and we could sit around and talk.



we even had a live band!


hopefully it won't take me a whole week to update on our next game. it's going to be a busy fun saturday. we're going to the balloon fiesta in the morning, elijah's game is at 10:00. then we're going to hang out with my brother and his girls and then possibly a lobo game at 7:30 (we'll see how the kids are doing by then)
