turning 1!

last saturday i got to meet the sweetest 1 year old. i got to spend some time at his birthday party and just take pictures. i loved that he let me in to his world and let me celebrate with him, he was sooo sweet holding my hand and playing with me (okay so he was this sweet with everyone). the most friendly little boy.

happy birthday ashleigh! finally.

we had a pretty casual day. i opened (i mean helped ashleigh open) her present(s) this morning. we got her the dang cutest doll house from fisher price. we meaning my mother-in-law and grandmother-in-law. there's no way i could've gotten her as awesome of a present without them.

we also got a few accessories and a car. elijah played with the car most of the day. and ashleigh tried to climb the stairs, go down the slide, and use the potty, sit in the car, eat the food...you get the point. but they love it! and i love it!

then we went to lunch with dad.






came home went for a walk in the wind and cold (i know a little crazy, but after that lunch i needed it). then dad had church meetings tonight so we spent the evening with grandma rasband. it was awesome to get all that attention and be in a warm house with a wonderful warm fire. i love me a woodburning stove! and a hot tub (which ashleigh is crazy in the water)

this is how i fear 2 will be. a fast blur. (this is ashleigh running away from me earlier when i tried to take her picture)


she's asleep now, and i'd love nothing more than to sneak in a take a picture of how sweet she can be, but i don't want to wake her up and hear her ask me to lay down by her. i love how big she acts, but when i hold her and cuddle with her i can't help but look at how little she really is. happy birthday sweet ashleigh.

i dont' know why blogger thinks it knows the better order for my pictures than what i thought they should be in, but here we go counting backward from 1 year to july (8months old?)

by the way do you notice a change in picture quality? i got my camera in july of 07, the best present ever!

ashleigh birthday part 2

this is my ode to asheligh. elijah has a scrapbook with a page for everyone month. starting at birth and ending at one year. ashleigh has nothing. and she loves looking a elijah's book. i'm a bad mom. i've been meaning to make her a little photo book (she has tons of pictures, she's pretty cute you have to admit)


these were before i had my camera but luckily my sister had a camera and got some great pictures of ashleigh.

wilson family

bio park, 3pm on a beautiful and mostly warm fall day. leaves all over the grass and some beautiful colors still on the tress makes for a perfect photo shoot. and don't forget a very silly and adorable family.

there were sooooooo many pictures i had a hard time just choosing a few to show off.

ashleigh's turning 2!!!

i thought everyday until then i'd post a little about her so you don't get one huge post on the 20th.

so this is November 20th, 2006.
ashleigh was born 2 hours and 14 mintues after my contractions began. i was trying my hardest to make it until morning (well when it was light outside morning) when my contractions began at midnight. but 1.5 hours later we were calling my mom and the midwife to see if we should go in. the midwife kept saying "they sound really bad, you should come in". but i kept thinking they've got to get worse and i don't want to go in and only be at a 3 and be sent home or worse have to hang out for 10 hours like last time and end up with an epidural and all that. but 10 minutes later i couldn't walk and thought ok, we'll go in. so by the time my mom got there i was crawling around on the floor still trying to get things together and clean up the house a little. we got in the truck (well i puked first) then left the house. 5 minutes later we were in the hospital parking lot and my husband ran inside the emergency room to get a wheel chair for me (i watched the clock the whole time he was gone it was 2am, i don't think the time changed but it felt like forever). the nurse got up the 5th floor real quick i remember seeing this pregnant women walking around trying to keep her labor going and i'm being wheeled in screaming, i felt bad) then they checked me and the nurses eyes were all big (i knew that couldn't be good). then the water broke and swooshed all over the room. they wheeled me to the delivery room and said "don't push until we switch beds" we switched beds, i asked if i could push, they said yes, and with no effort (maybe one push) out popped ashleigh. smaking her lips looking for breakfast. little stinker!




this is ashleigh in the hospital sucking her thumb, she loves her thumb!



she looks kind of big in those pictures. she was 8 pounds, but only 19 inches long! she carries all her weight in her cheeks. the doctors always say how petite she looks (it's an attitude thing though). she "acts" all small and sweet, and talks all squeaky and sweetly. but don't let her fool you, she's stubborn and determined.

gotta love that little girl.

real quick.

i'm supposed to be getting kids ready to leave for elijah's last soccer game right now, but i couldn't wait to share these.

elijah got a new wall-e toy for ashleigh's birthday (our family thinks whenever there's a birhtday we all need a present, i wonder what i should get for ashleigh's birthday)


and ashleigh yelling at me to "not" take her picture. i think i'm going to love 2 (that was sarcastic if you couldn't tell)

the Falkner's

so i haven't been to the bio park in a while. i'm always amazed at how different it looks evertime i go. the flowers are always different and now the leaves were just beautiful. things i'm excited about after this shoot, little boys! i've been taking so many pictures of 2 year old girls lately (which are dang cute too!). but sometimes a shy, silly little brother just makes your day. oh and a big brother that really likes nacho libre (i think i'm going to watch the movie again tomorrow).

garrett's

i love quick little photoshoots. (kids are happy they don't have to take pictures forever!!) plus i love nob hill. i love the colorful walls, the fun curbs and alleys, and cars trying to hit you while you're laying down in the road (can't you see i'm workig here!!!)
oh yeah, and i love the garrett's.

makaafi's

my parents backyard. i love their yard, someday i'll have a big fun yard for me to take lots of pictures in. these boys had so much fun just playing (plus all the grandkids were there so there were a lot of people to play with)


ashleigh couldn't let them have all the fun!!!

so here's mario and me going to a halloween party. pretty scary huh?! you can't really see my mowhawk (i was proud of that).


then all these next pictures are from elijah's fieldtrip to the railrunner and pumpkin patch. ashleigh just couldn't get comfortable she finally ended up on the floor, she must've been tired.










ashleigh really liked this scarecrow and wanted her picture taking with it. maybe because she felt bonded they do have the same hair!!!




i love big heads (especially with a big helmet on)



then there was the halloween party at school with tons of stuff (it's the best preschool!) and soccer pictures and soccer practice and soccer games. it's been a busy couple of weeks










i've had a little break from doing family portriats for a couple of weeks but now i'm very busy again (and i still have people booking sessions) we're running out of time before christmas (and december 13th, which is the last week i'll be doing pictures for this year) so if you still want to book a session call or email me soon!!!
