afternoon at grandma's

First you can't go to grandma's without jumping on the trampoline. It's usually more fun without the "big" kids

and here's the evolution of a Devyn attack.
1.she looks so cute and innocent

2. she gradually gets closer and closer...

3. then she crawls on you! there's no mountain (or lap) to challanging to stop her

4. and last she always ends with a nice slobbery kiss, actually in her case it's usually sucking on your cheek!

other fun things to do at grandmas - watch the hummingbirds fight over food. Devyn just discovered them this last week.

and finally one of our most favorite things at grandma's house is her flowers! these are her hibiscus! and to show how large they really are i asked ashleigh and my niece to sit next to them.

and of course they had their own silly game they were playing. still not sure what it was. but it made me laugh. those two. i asked Ashleigh to come take a picture and she tells me "NO WAY" and my niece, who's a year younger than Ash, copies her exactly "NO WAY". in the end they couldn't resist pretty flowers and i won. i always win!

Baby Addison - 4 1/2 months!

Early in March I got to take pictures with a new beautiful baby girl Addison. Now she's smiling, drooling and rolling over. She has the most kissable cheeks and the biggest eyes. I think I could look at her all day, which I'm sure is what her parents do! I can't wait to do family pictures with them in the fall and see how much more Addi changes and grows.

rain, rain...

Yesterday as we were leaving church the kids and I stood just in front of the doors looking outside trying to figure out how we were going to get into our car. It was pouring rain outside. Finally we decided just to run to the car and try to avoid the big puddles.

The kids had a blast running to the car and asked if they could run in the rain more when we got home. I couldn't refuse. One of my favorite memories as a kid is running in the rain during summer showers. The water is always so warm and it feels awesome to not care about getting your hair or face wet. In my family we grew up loving the rain. Maybe because my mom always had a garden so we loved the extra watering, or my dad's a farm boy, my mom always pointed out the fresh smell after a shower. But my favorite thing to go with rain...chocolate chip cookies. It's automatic. When it rains we ALWAYS make chocolate chip cookies. My mom always did, she says her mom always did so now without even thinking when it's cloudy outside I want chocolate chip cookies. hmmmm. we've had lots of treats the last couple of days.

I love this time of year. I'm getting excited for a change but at the same time I don't want summer to end. These next couple of weeks are going to packed with fun things for the kids to do. I'm not even worrying about cleaning my house! lol that's just an excuse not to clean. I miss Elijah so much when he's at school I want to spend as much time as I can with him the next little bit.

As of July 24th

Elijah is 6 and 4 months. He's about 55lbs and 52 inches. And he keeps getting taller. I won't buy him jeans until right before school starts! He starts the 1st grade in 3 weeks!

He loves video games and his sisters. He loves spongebob, fairy god parents, and watching all other kinds of movies and shows on netflix on the wii. He's lost 3 teeth. The first one right before Valentine's day, he ate it at the restaurant. The second one a couple of weeks later. And the third one he knocked out when he hit his mouth on his knee jumping out of the swing. He ate the tooth while eating pizza Friday night. He now talks with a lisp. He is the best big brother in the whole world. He is such an amazing example to Ashleigh and Devyn. He is so helpful and loving. I'm so glad he's the oldest child in our family. I love this little (big) boy.

Ashleigh is 3 and 8 months. She's short and solid (I don't know her lbs and inches, I just know she's not tall enough to ride big rides at Cliff's but Elijah is)

She loves pink and purple. She loves to color and paint and cut and draw and make lots of messes. She got a new tea set that I know she really loves because she actually takes care of it. She wants a puppy. She loves to act and play pretend. She loves to wear her hair down "side to side. like mommy" She's taking ballet classes and is doing so good. she's the cutest one out there. She listens to her teacher and follows directions so good, at dance, not at home. She loves Devyn except when Devyn gets her stuff. She wants to loose a tooth like Elijah. She's super loving and sweet but she's not afraid to say what's on her mind! I love my little Ash

Devyn is 8 months. She's 16ist lbs and 20 somthing inches (she has a doctors appointment next month that we may go to)

She's crawls everywhere. Makes goofy faces and throws tantrums until she gets what she wants (or until you can distract her with something else) She doesn't have any teeth. I love her toothless grin. She's very loving but shows it in a funny way. Like instead of giving kisses she'll suck on your cheek, or leg, or toes, or nose. She loves to clap and play patty cake. She loves food, especially pasta. She'll go to anyone who offers her food. She's spunky and determined. I love watching her little personality unfold. But I wish she would sleep in her own bed. Like I said she's stubborn and usually gets what she wants. But I love waking up to her smiles every morning.

I think I'm the luckiest person in the world. I have beautiful, fun kids. and the best husband in the world.

Komadina kids

I thought I was going in for a little newborn shoot with a couple of sibling shots. It turned out to be way more awesome than that!

I could've stayed there all day. The kids were so much fun and very cooperative (well as cooperative as a 5 and almost 3 year old are normally)

Such a fun, cute family. I talked to the mom the other day and she said her daughter told her that was fun and wanted to do it again "tomorrow". I love it! I would totally come do it again "tomorrow".

And I know that checkered/argyle armoire!!! totally awesome. I think I'm going to paint the kids drawers like that. Maybe. I'd like to anyways. I can't wait to do pictures with these kids again. I had a lot of fun.

By the way...I'm finally "back" from all my vacations and summer fun and ready to get down to business.

so here's the plan

August (The whole month) back to school special. 1 hour session for $75.00. That includes 10 images you can purchase the entire image package for $50.00
August mini session - the 21st (I would like a new area any one have suggestions?)

here's the special part...October-December double the mini sessions!!! Instead of once a month I will do mini session 2x every month + I'll make sure if you book your mini session in December (because some of us wait until the last minute) I'll make sure you get your pictures by Christmas!

And I know this is planning WAY in advance and some of us can't look past July yet...But for those you can I will be putting a very special deal out on black friday (you know that crazy shopping day the day after Thanksgiving) and it'll be good for 2011. ugh 2011. that's way to far in the future to think about!
